Wapella.com Mourns the Passing of Clarence Hibbard


Clarence Omer "Keeb" Hibbard, 52, of Elkton, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hibbard was born Oct. 6, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, and was a son of the late John Hibbard Sr. and surviving Pearl Hibbard Garriott of Clinton, Ill.




He was a machine operator for Packaging Corp. He was a Wapella Wildcat and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Clarence had a great zest for life and a great love for his country. He is best remembered for his sense of humor and his willingness to help out others in a time of need. Clarence greatly enjoyed all forms of music, old movies, fishing, gardening, barbecuing and woodworking, and socializing with his friends on Facebook. He was a great guy with a good heart, who had a smile for all. Clarence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, Clarence is survived by his fiancée, Cathy Murphy, and her son, J.J., of Elkton; three brothers, Kenny Hibbard, Kris Hibbard and John Hibbard Jr., all of Clinton, Ill.; a sister, Doris Jost of Clinton, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends, who will greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hibbard and Gary Hibbard.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating and military rites by the Gooden Brothers VFW Post No. 9292. The family will receive friends following the service.
