Illini Come out Swinging

When 2-1 is a suprisingly good start, you know that you have a long way to go. Yet the Illini looked strong today in smacking Syracuse 41-20 at the Carrierdome. Some say this Illini team may be as good as the Jason Verduzco Illini in the 1990's, others compare them to the later Kurt Kitner teams.
Regardless of comparison , the battle of the Orange and Blue vs. the Orangemen was taken by the Illini setting the tone for an interesting season.

Go Illi-Ini!

Good win, but the real test is the Big Ten. Is it too early to make a bowl prediction?

Michigan will still be tough to beat even though they throttled a terrible ND squad.

I agree with IRBW, which is rare. The real test comes on Saturday in our first Big Ten game. This is a much improved Indiana team with a very talented QB. If Juice & Co. can win that game, a bowl bid is a lock. Here we come Insight Bowl...OSKEE WOW WOW!

Glad to see the Illini are off to a good start, much better than my seem-to-be-hopeless Irish are doing this year.

I agree JMK… pretty excited about the illini, they will definately cause some problems for most of the big ten this year. I am going to call it now: illinois will upset one of the major big ten ranked teams this year! we were close last year against ohio state and are much better this year.

I think the Notre dame struggle just shows you how under appreciated brady quinn was in the nfl draft.

It's too bad Michigan and Notre Dame couldn't have both lost on Saturday.

P.S: I'd rather have Quinn Schmid QB my team than Brady....

I think Notre Dame's struggles just go to show you that Charlie Weiss, although a decent coach, is a terrbile recruiter. I mean who can't recruit at Notre Dame? I mean the school recruits itself, and now Weiss is just happy he has a long term contract because he has a bunch on young guys coming in next year. Lastly, they don't even do anything fundamentally right, they have not been well coached and are probably one of the top 20 worst football programs this year. Hooray for the Green and Gold!

The Illini, politically incorrect, beat a school named after a city in Sicily with a mascot that enrages Irish Catholics. Hey JMP, where are you when we need some PC? Are you still savoring your "Retire the Chief" agenda? Is Charlie W. going to appear with K. Alley on Jenny Craig commercials? I think you were taken. Urban is still available.
