Wapella.coom Mourns the Passing of Kathie Toohill

Kathie S. Toohill, 67, of Granite City, Ill., born April 11, 1944, in Granite City, Ill., died at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

Mrs. Toohill worked for the Granite City Township Office as the deputy tax assessor for over 28 years. She was active in the Catholic Church, enjoyed traveling and cooking and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Geneva, nee SansSouci, Redman; and her husband, William Hugh Toohill, WHS 1976

Surviving are sons, John and Gay Williams of Colorado Springs, Colo., and David and Debbie Williams of Granite City, Ill.; daughter, Molly and Garrett Mullen of Granite City, Ill.; aunts, Lois King of Maryville, Ill., and Madeleine Villotti of Granite City, Ill.; grandchildren, Joshua and Kathy Williams, Jeremiah Williams, Zachariah Williams, Benjamin Williams, Connor Mullen, MaKenna Mullen; loving nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Granite City, Ill., with Father Chris Comerford officiating.

Kathie Toohill is remembered as a caring and cheerful person. She will be sadly missed. Our condolences to the Toohill family.
