Maybe the Midwest's Finest

Oh well, the Cardinals, Cubs, and Brewers lost by a combined 31-10 today. Thoroughly drubbed, possibly the weakest division in history is spuuttering on the home stretch. Makes you think, if the pitctured team was playing pro now, they would all be around 32 years old, and at the peak of their careers. Makes you think these Wapella Blues would have a better than 50-50 shot at any of the NL Midwestern Miserables. Take special notice of Paul "Skip" Armstrong showing off his Popeye arms, and Damon Stevens looking like a young Adrian Zmed. Go Blue!

#20, Jason Miller, son of Kathy Leggett, was one of the best pre-High School baseball players our group ever played with. But alas, he decided not to go out for High School baseball, even though every year, Mr Bowman would say "we sure could use you out there" etc etc. He was a hell of an athlete.

There is a lot of truth to a comment that was posted a while back about Mr. Miller, that he was quite possibly one of the best athletes never to have played organized sports at WHS.

I believe this picture to be taken around the same time that Damon drilled a hard grounder at EEP, after he was taunting him for not putting a little more "pepper" on the ball. Unfortunately for EEP, the ball took a bad bounce, hit him in the jimmy and then cupless, EEP stormed off the field cussing Damon in a very high-pitched voice. He then proceeded to keep walking until he readhed his house, undoubetly cussing all the way - oh the good old days...

Wow - I read over possibly the best film reference of all-time on WDotCom. Initially did not catch Damon Stevens as Adrian "Johnny Nogerelli" Zmed from Grease 2!

Applause all around for that one. As Borat would say - "nice."

Yeah even thought they may have been good do you honestly think they could take a team consisting of: Ethan Bruing, Brad Toohill, Jacob Quaid, Eric Steffen, and Scott Van Winkle all of Le Roy?

To even take it a step further, do you think they could take a team of Bob, Joe, Jim, Larry, Moe and Curly from Shirley? Wapella is ALWAYS better than LeRoy, so it is a moot point - but thanks for letting me state that fact...
