Hitching Posts

This from an alert reader...

On my drive home yesterday I head down the business district of Hog City
and there is it...... a horse tied up to the power pole and a cowboy in
at Annie's throwing back a few cold ones. I had to drive around the
block as I was shocked and stunned though not all that surprised. Has
Wapella turning into a horse trading community with all the new horse
farms? I might add this horse was at the local establishment for several
hours. Thought you would get a chuckle out of this. Though I assume you
have probably been contacted already about this.
....

Wapella has one foot firmly in the 19th century, with all modern conveniences.

Ranching and horse trading....

The operator is most probably a Green and concerned with the environment. Or has a suspended driver's license (another Hog City tradition).

Wapella to supplant the Kentucky Bluegrass among equine folks?

Happy early birthday wishes to Joseph M Powers; brilliant scientist, able pianist and musician and writer of many fine travel reviews.

I hear the Horse Hills boys just got a new 20 foot horse trailer. Sounds like they are delivering 10 mares to Wyoming next week.

Hope someone brought the ol' hayburner a refreshment while he was hitched up...

Yeah, I saw this horse, it shocked me too. Later that evening, I was walking by the establishment and saw the horse in the beer garden, so the horse got his share. It was the best thing to see in Wapella for a long time.
