My condolences to the Veteto family, My former piano teacher from the early 1970s was a patient and talented woman who introduced the musical arts to my siblings and me. I still open up John W. Schaum piano books when I see them at freind's houses and make my fingers recall the old ways taught by Mrs. Veteto. Recital days were always exciting, and her work in organizing these was appreciated--and did much good in making DeWitt County a better place in which to grow up.

Mrs. Margaret Veteto was God's gift to piano students. I was so very lucky to have had the opportunity to sit beside Mrs. Veteto for twelve years as she taught me a lifetime more than just piano lessons. Never in all those years did she ever say any unkind word - even though she always definitely knew when I hadn't practiced. Another thing I remember about Mrs. Veteto is that she had the most beautiful hands. But the quality I loved most about her was her quiet grace. Mrs. Veteto was such a beautiful woman inside and out. We can all learn a lesson from the quiet, gentle grace she brought to teaching piano and in living her life. Mrs. Veteto was also one of my best friends while growing up. I couldn't wait to see her every week. Thank you, Mrs. Veteto, for bringing music and grace to my life. I know that you are now playing for the angels in heaven and they are the ones getting a treat! Love you....Lori Walters Orthen
